MagicalPad Unveils MagicalPad 3 for iPad

Completely Redesigned With Stunning User Interface & Great New Features

Chicago―June 24, 2013―MagicalPad®, today unveils MagicalPad 3 for iPad, the most significant update since the original MagicalPad®, featuring a stunning new user interface and great new features. MagicalPad 3 is completely redesigned to powerfully integrate note taking, handwriting/drawing, outlining and mind mapping all side-by-side in a fluid freeform page layout. The user experience has been refined for a cleaner, simpler look, and the use of contextual menus makes even complex tasks simpler and more engaging. MagicalPad 3 has tens of great new features, including drawing / handwriting, photos, multi-selection tool, advanced pop-up edit, attachments, enhanced formatting, customizable notebooks, share to Facebook and Twitter, send to Evernote, in-place quick menus to add new elements, apply formatting to children, siblings or both, enhanced drag/drop and improved rendering engine.

“Just you & your content” is one of the mottos of MagicalPad; MagicalPad was always centered on simplicity and focused on the user’s content. “We took this concept to a whole new level with this release where the design recedes, and in doing so, elevates your content,” said Bouchra. MagicalPad 3 is a clear representation of these goals. It has a whole new structure and experience that is forward thinking and consistent with the new highly awaited IOS 7 simplistic UI paradigms.

MagicalPad 3 introduces Multimedia. Now users can insert photos, handwritten notes and drawings anywhere on the page. They can also attach drawings and photos to outline or mind map items. With transparent background drawings you can circle elements within the page or quickly point to something with a drawn arrow. Drawing editor also gives you instant bigger view for inserted drawings and images and allows you to quickly annotate, highlight and add to them.

With MagicalPad 3, full screen mode is now available so you can work on your content with no UI distraction. Quick menu allows users to add an outline, a photo, or any other element anywhere on the page. Context menus for selected elements give you access to the most used functionality and formatting. You will never need to go to a toolbar for most functionality.

The new customizable notebooks look stunning on the retina display. You can select from many beautiful colors with realistic leather texture or customize with your own photo from the photo library or the iPad camera. The notebooks page now has more help information accessible from the help icon, which makes MagicalPad a fun experience for new users.

With improved formatting in MagicalPad 3, users can quickly format many elements at once using the multi-select tool. They can also apply formatting to siblings, children or both for an outline element. Formatting selectors are now even better offering gorgeous color selectors, quick access to recent colors, custom color palette, color spectrum shades, color wheel, favorite colors and more. Colors now have opacity built-in to them so you can create semi-transparent items that overlap.

The new pop-up editor is a great way to take notes and attach elements to them. Users can freely capture and manage content in the page or edit each note or outline item as a stand-alone note, and then close it to see the big picture. Attach multiple photos and drawings to each element, drag and drop to freely organize any element on the page, zoom in on the details, and zoom out to see the whole story with prioritized/structured and connected notes.

Multi-select tool is an entirely new way to quickly and easily select multiple outlines, mind map elements and notes in order to move, copy or format. You can also multi-select outline items and move to another outline – great for GTD, or just move them up the priority stack within the same outline.

ENHANCEMENTS

  • Much easier formatting. Introducing *level formatting* and *branch formatting*:
  • *Branch formatting*: Once you format a level-1 list item, any item after that that you add and indent (to make a child) inherits all the parent levels. This accomplishes branch formatting.
  • *Level formatting*: when you are adding any list item at a second or higher level, formatting one item automatically formats its siblings (all under the same parent) not the full list (for more flexibility). This works with every action i.e. add, copy/paste, drag/drop, indent/outdent.
  • You can still format level-1 items independently the way you want
  • Export as JPEG in Email, Dropbox, Evernote and Google Docs
  • Open RFT and TXT files using MagicalPad from anywhere in your iPad (in addition to OPML and MPX)
